One year ago today I had heart surgery. Was up and in the shower scrubbing my body with a blue liquid that would kill unwanted germs.By 5:00 am we were at the hospital waiting in the dark reception room to be helped. There was one man checking in the few that were arriving. After a very rapid check in we just sat staring at the big double swinging doors. Then a body appeared and called my name!Away I went hardly able to look back at my husband for fear of crying that this could be THE GOOD-BYE.I was directed to a room with a curtain and a bed and told to undress and put the gown upon thy body.I waited there for a long time……….freezing I might add.The air conditioning was blowing! They had a very thin blanket that barely covered me.After awhile a nurse came and then the anesthesiologist. It all went pretty fast from there……………I can still re-call being wheeled through other double doors, down a hall and making a left turn into the operating room where people stood about with scrubs and masks then all went pitch black. The next thing I knew I was in recovery with the MAGNIFICENT Italian and my first born telling them with my hands to change spots as I could not open my right eye nor could I speak because of the tubes down my throat. Not a pretty sight!Later I learned I gained lots of additional weight from the liquids they pumped into me to keep me going!I had a partial collapsed lung, but other then that my new improved heart valve has given me more energy to go out and find more GOODS to sell.Road trip is in my future. My Hunting and Gathering skills are in need of sharpening!Time to roam.
