Absolutely no words needed here………………I think the photos speak for themselves!I hope you enjoy!

It is a tantalizing array of frou-frou and advance stages of decay.

Your words and photos make me want to be there ….. Isn’t that proof of their success ? ! You have captured not just the beauty visually , but I can feel it, smell it, taste it too ! …. Leaving questions that need never to be answered to entertain my mind. Like, where did the weathered door once lead ? How do the French always know that red flowers in a window box are best ? What did the Grande Dames look like that descended that great staircase ? What were they wearing ? And the split between the walls…..Were the castle dwellers able to see who was traveling towards them on the river , in time to prepare ? Were they anticipated friends ? Or foe, wanting the beautiful castle for themselves ? Merci !

These pictures also take me back to childhood memories of fairy tales.
Iremember so fondly my imagination taking me to places that looked just like these photos. I can still see the beautiful princess that always was so beautiful and waiting for her prince. She wore a flowing blue dress that was very soft and her hair was a mass of golden curls.
Sounds like your trip was wonderful. Knowing you there will be some treasures to view, and maybe even own sometime soon. Can,t wait. Anxious to hear about the Italian visit.

My mind wanders as I imagine what princess scurried up those stairs and what was she wearing? Hmm I imagine her holding up her heavy brocade gown so it would not drag along the stones! The pictures are so magnificent Contessa. Thank you dear one for sharing. I popped over to the Hen House today for a visit but you had left a little early. I will try again. Miss you
