Hello Looky~Lou’s…………since closing the shop I have been hopping on airplanes and driving down south to see some sites.Thought I would share a few pics with you!
I first went to PASADENA to visit a dear girlfriend of mine(she actually was my boss many years ago at I.MAGNIN)we went to see THE HUNTINGTON GARDENS.If you haven’t been I suggest you GO!Absolutely, breath taking and I felt as if I had been transported to EUROPE!
Then I went traveling down the 101 highway to MONTECITO,CALIFORNIA to see LOTUSLAND!A garden that is shown from time to time in magazines with cactus plants and an eccentric woman.Cactus isNOT my thing but gardens are so I MADE MYSELF GO!OH,my……………..what an experience.Again if your near SANTA BARBARA GO!It’s the next gorgeous village over.You see the POLISH BARONESS bought the estate at the insistence of her sixth husband!He was into YOGA and they called it TIBETLAND after she dumped him and five other husbands she was set for life and started to create her garden……………..she was an OPERA SINGER her name was GANNA WALSKA…………her real name was HANNAH.I guess in some language Hannah and ANNA mean DIVINE………….she changed her name!She loved to sing but was not too good at it and she also loved to WALTZ………so she changed her last name too……….(translation) DIVINE WALTZ.Any of you that know me personally will see I’m captivated already!She loved clothes and festivity crowns and her garden…………….I quote her “MY GARDEN IS MY RESUME.I just love that!Go enjoy the photos first of the HUNTINGTON GARDENS then LOTUSLAND and tell me if you have been!Or if you plan to GO!

Sounds like you have had some fabulous adventures! I had read about Huntington Gardens but will certainly make a stop next time I’m in the States to see Lotusland on way to SLO. And I agree the drive on the 101 is divine – I always do that and there is a good detour from Santa Barbara that takes you over the mountains which is route 154 that will then join up with 101 which is worth doing – stop off at the Los Olivos food store on the way. I wore your blue top out for dinner last night- its had a lot of outings!
