I have two boys………….one with short hair sometimes too short another with long, long hair and an occasional DRED or TWO!
Well, I have NEWS……….the dreds are gone as is THE HAIR!I do believe the hair had been growing for over five years………….
I had to sit down when he called to tell me!At first I thought he was joking or perhaps had cut just a little bit off.He refused to take a SELFIE of himself as he was driving!(GOOD KID!)I of course, told him to pull over to the side of the road and snap away so I could see!Then I suggested I meet him at the exit for our home as he was driving right past!”NO, MOTHER you will have to wait to see!”
This was my BOY just months ago………..
This is my YOUNGEST SON YESTERDAY!
I have the GORGEOUS girlfriend to THANK for this!He let her cut his hair!
WHICH ONE IS THE GIRLFRIEND YOU WOULD LIKE TO KNOW?Try and guess!IT’s a tuff one I KNOW!
I being me of course, asked “Where is the hair now?”
His answer,”Nollie carries it around……….”Nollie, is his beloved female BOXER who just had ONE puppy!Just one which is very unusual.I was thrilled it was ONE puppy as the VET said the norm for BOXERS is between 6 and 14 puppies!!!!!!!!
I say “Send me a photo of THE HAIR!”
Nollie,likes to carry her MASTERS hair around the house.Look at those curls……….gorgeous hair.But I must say I am happy to see the short hair.I was amazed as it is so curly now and darker then before.
Let me introduce our new family member.Please welcome little ADMIRAL BUTTERS!!We are all thrilled with him.Would you believe one eye is blue?Those paws are BIG.ADORABLE……………and so happy to have him close as This SON has given him to his brother as a gift.The SON with short hair all the time!
That would be the tall thing on the LEFT!That other Boy like creature would be the BELOVED husband of 28 years!

Well I wish I could come to the fair because I would love to come and say hello. I think your son looks more handsome with short hair. Not that I dislike long hair. When I was a teenager most guys grew their hair longer than we girls did. That brings back all sorts of memories 😉

You made me laugh this morning reading your note. Wanted to talk to you on the phone.
Oddly, my fine blonde hair made its own dreds at the beach when I stopped washing or combing it for a week. Who knew? What a great week, alone with my 2 dogs, perfect campsite on the ocean, Vietnam veteran at the next site handled all the ‘manly’ stuff for me. In exchange he and his wife/grandchildren were allowed to walk thru my campsite to the water.
Need to do that again. Ding Dong why didn’t I think of that sooner.
Have a great time at your show. Sell lots of stuff meet lots of new wonderful people.

I cannot guess which is the girlfriend, but they are all lovely! Admiral Butters is adorable. How fun and neat just one little baby… I owe you a note.. At a school carnival all day!

What handsome sons you have! They are the beneficiaries of Mom and Dad’s attractive genes.
As I prefer short hair on the younger son because those tresses and dredlocks distract from his handsome face, kudos to the persuasive girlfriend. Her opinion matters! Offspring never listen to Mom.

Admiral Butters is so incredibly CUTE! He certainly was given an excellent name. How lovely to hear he will stay in the family. A fine gift from younger brother to elder brother; a wonderful gesture.

I can’t believe how you and I live on opposite sides of the world yet we both have two sons where the eldest has very short hair and the youngest had very long hair, though not quite as long as your youngest, but still quite dready and he cut it all off earlier this year! When I met up with him in March for two weeks I had to prepare myself for the transformation after having only seen him with long hair for the past three years which was such a change. So I can imagine how you would be feeling……younger son of Contessa looks just gorgeous! I adore that Nollie carries the cut off hair around with her! Very cute. X

My two boys are so close in age, and yet very different. My elder had long hair that he wore in a pony tail all through high school (along with tie-dye shirts)… a throwback to the hippie days he thinks he would have loved. Meanwhile, his younger brother was Mr. Short Hair and preppy… go figure!
Right before my firstborn graduated from high school he got his hair down (nearly) to his waist all cut off. I liked him with his pony tail, but the hair cut was fabulous! His friends cracked up, and he’s been Mr. Short Hair ever since.
On the other hand, when he comes home for visits, I never know if there will be a mustache, a goatee, both, or a clean shaven face… Sheesh.
(And right now, as it’s summer and he’s off work (school teaching), my gentleman friend is growing a beard. At the moment… Ouch!

Boys! I, being an old-fashioned mom, of course like the shorter hair vs the dreads. I think my son actually had dread-locks in college too. I REALLY love the clean-shaven, short-haired son’s look, but alas our son’s never really want our opinions do they….? My son has a bushy beard that hides his sweet face too. BUT no one asked me…..

Elizabeth, I love this post! Youngest son is just beautiful and even though I liked his long hair, the new look is fabulous. He must trust his girlfriend bigtime to allow her to make him over.
