I was on a MISSION……….I met a few HIGH ROLLERS this past month……….not only did I jet across that NEW BRIDGE into the CITY two days in a ROW I was able to meet and purchase a few books from these AMAZING DECORATOR’S.
SUZANNE TUCKER~CHARLOTTE MOSS~AERIN LAUDER & PAUL WISEMAN.
Aerin,was the only decorator being interviewed by another woman who constantly had to look and read from her notes…….I always think that is POOR ETIQUETTE .I feel as if the homework has not been done……………AERIN’s words of the day were…………..SENSIBILITIES,JUXTAPOSITION and LIGHTING…….were HER top THREE words she used in every other sentence!Her sister lives in SAN FRANCISCO.That was a surprise and she is a MOM of TWO BOYS!She has been decorating her whole LIFE………her grandmother was the GRAND DAME ESTEE LAUDER which she has fond memories of her getting dressed and applying her perfume.To quote ESTEE, AERIN said ,”ANY woman can look beautiful if they take the time!”Which I think is probably very true.However, time is our biggest BEAUTY product to apply.If WE all had HELP and the children are gone……..MAYBE!But in REALITY most of us are looking after others and give ourselves just minutes to adorn thy BOD and then WE are on a MAD dash……….out the door!
CHARLOTTE MOSS………is a woman after my own HEART!Get out from that computer and ENJOY the HUNT……….there will always be things to BUY she says with enthusiuasum.She still hides purchases from the HUSBAND……….loves to garden…….. has a new gardening book out in SPRING and if you come up with the TITLE for the book you are to email HER.I’m certain you will be REWARDED!!I liked HER……..will search for ALL her books.SHE LOVES TO READ…..HAS 3 LIBRARIES…………one just for GARDENING imagine that!Problem is I AM IMAGINING that because that is the second time I have been told about a personal library of GARDEN BOOKS.There is a CHATEAU in FRANCE where my dear friend goes to draw once a year………and she has seen it!
PAUL WISEMAN was on SUZANNA’s second honeymoon……..in BELGIUM!They must have had a bit of work thrown in there!She too lives in San Francisco and is from SANTA BARBARA.I do not know why but assumed they all were from the EAST COAST.SUZANNA, writes a column for HOUSE BEAUTIFUL,or so I thought!I have the November issue in front of me and cannot find HER.GO FIGURE……..but I did find CHARLOTTE MOSS as a SPECIAL PROJECTS EDITOR.I know they BOTH contribute.I am NOT making this up!
Let me tell you about Paul Wiseman……..I found his SISTER IN LAW by accident in my local NURSERY!She and I are like two peas in a pod when its comes to plants and clothes!HIS favorite color is YELLOW……………… he loves VITA SAKVILLE WEST and SISSINGHURST is his favorite garden!His fantastic speech informed us ALL that Decorating started in the CAVE……LAUSSANE,FRANCE………remember ART HISTORY CLASS?I do and was so delighted to know; as I haven’t been that once you enter the cave one makes a sharp Right turn and it opens up into a massive cave………an ART ROOM NO LESS.A decorative painting decorating the caveman’s living quarters.An interesting fact.
Mr. Wiseman’s and Charlotte’s advise to the young and up coming DECORATOR’S was to travel and read as much as you can…………..I believe this to be so true even if I am NOT a DECORATOR.The more you see and experience the MORE you will have to SHARE. WISE ADVISE to GIVE.
Lunch with the GORGEOUS STACIE BODEL……………….in her past Life an editor for SOUTHERN LIVING magaizne.Her current LIFE is MOM to three BOYS and MY REFORMER INSTRUCTRESS ………….I ADORE HER.I re-live MY LIFE through HER stories……………perhaps one day I too will look as fit and lean as SHE.Let’s NOT hold OUR breath as I’m working my way through the HALLOWEEN candy as I type!A BEAUTIFUL TWO DAYS in the CITY.To be amongst the People and the BEAUTIFUL TREASURES is always a DELIGHT for me.The SAN FRANCISCO FALL ANTIQUE SHOW seldom disappoints.People DRESS,ANTIQUE DEALERS from around the WORLD,setting is on an OLD PIER,lunch is served under the palms this year and if your lucky you can catch the view of the BAY from an open door.A SPECTACULAR DAY INDEED!

I have been attending the FALL ANTIQUE SHOW for the last 15 years or so I would say……….I believe I read about it in the newspaper!!So, now I am on the mailing list!They ALWAYS have GREAT SPEAKERS……….and the cost is almost NOTHING!

What a line up! Aerin Lauder just oozes style, doesn’t she? I saw her walking on Madison Avenue when I was in NYC last month and she’s just as gorgeous in person as her photos. What a lucky lady you are to meet all these top decorators.
I’m trying to stay away from the Halloween candy… the problem is that I’ve been eating all sorts of other goodies – cake, cookies wine. Feels like the holiday season is already in full swing.

My glasses are by EYE~BOBS.I have them in a turquoise blue too!They are magnifiers but I had my prescription put in.THANK YOU!
I have one rooster…….his brother just died this year and he was the KING of the HEN HOUSE!This little guy MISTER GREY has a small voice………GET CHICKENS……I have just been coaching the FRENCH BASKETEER to get some too!They are VERY easy…….and give SO MUCH JOY!We have had now for at least 15 years.
From your picture with the dogs I think you live in AUSTRALIA or England am I right?!!!
