YOU better sit down.
You also better put your phone away and go to your laptop or IPAD.
If VINTAGE is your THING and you like STUFF this is a POST for YOU!
I had the privilege to go inside this house…………before I left OHIO.
It is owned by a LOVELY WOMAN named STACY.
She is the WOMAN in CHARGE at her local Thrift shop.
She has given herself the name QUEEN OF TRASHY TREASURES on Instagram.
I have labeled her as MADAME TRASH…….and I say that with TOTAL LOVE!

CUTE is the WRONG word……………..Note the plates that boarder the property!

Those plates are LIMOGE………….one of a kind scoured over a period of time.
Shall we enter this ABODE?
Are YOU ready?
Sitting DOWN………….I must remind MYSELF to BREATH.

The front porch……..
I got held up there as all the other GALS went directly INSIDE!!!!
I did not snap a photo because I was on OVERLOAD!

AN old book, a bowl with MARY inside?
The light from a church procession…….okay………..whats the WOW FACTOR here.
Believe me it gets BETTER.Stay with ME…………

There he is THE MAN the MYTH the LEGEND………….missing fingers and with a DASH of PATINA!
Chippy…………….all the more BETTER!

This was one of my favorite vignette’s………..ANTLERS and A CROWN.

I guess the PROPRIETRESS does not believe in BAD luck with the open umbrella……I would grab the SCEPTER in case of a TORNADO warning……….I learn you run to the BASEMENT!

MARY with HER things……….a bit of FRENCH FRINGE adds to HER neckline!

This is DIVINE……….to me.

LOOKING through a barn door to the sitting area or family room!Just wait I have a better photo coming UP!

THE ROOM where one eats in formal style.Note the old church window.

Wonderful one of a kind plates and I bet these finger bowls are HAVILAND?

Note the ice tea spoons in the TROPHY!Look at the CHUNKY bases on the candelabra’s.Florentine fixtures………….I spy a couple more crowns.

BARN DOOR……….with serving plate attached…….why didn’t I think of that?!!Old wallpaper…….would imagine it is as old as the house!

What first caught my eye here and believe me my EYE WAS A TRAVELING FAST!(Diana VREELAND would have been proud!)Was the fur stole tucked under the bottle……….it just made me melt.

More Wonderfulness…………I think this was in the living room! That Leopard print is SO in FASHION now!

Funny thing I have the same print in my kitchen! But HERS is in a double FRAME which makes it POP.More Ornate…….SO much better then mine!!!!!!Then there are the antlers above……….note to self……….. I need more HORNS!!!

So, I have an empty violin case just sitting here.NO, wonder I never wanted to SELL IT and passed up an opportunity to do so……..NOW I know what to do with it!

This may be even BETTER…………..I have the same mirror and the same WHISKEY holder with a little dance I could find a piece of luggage just so………HOLLYWOOD TAKE NOTE!I think HOLLYWOOD needs STACY for SET DESIGN………….I would happily be HER ASSISTANT!
MADAME TRASH HERSELF………….we had been at the FLEA all morning and NEVER mind she stayed UP ALL NIGHT cleaning for ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SHE LOOKS PRETTY DARN GOOD!!If you READ my last POST she was the one in a bridal dress at the TEA!

A BEAUTIFUL SMILE…………I think she was getting TREATS for the FURRY BEASTIES………THREE GINGER CATS just like my THEODORE.Behind her is the magical kitchen sink area which I would have a hard time leaving!BRING ON THE DIRTY DISHES!

Note the yellow velvet coach was a MISTAKE she told me her husband had not had the time to move it out as of yet…………we are now looking into the dining room.Look at the ceiling same wood work the old HEN HOUSE shop had………so that says 1800’s to me.

SO, they have taken away the plaster from the wall. What a NEAT AFFECT!Look UP LOOK UP……….I have the same fixture in my guest potty room!

Old Canister……………..anyone know what would have come in this it was glass?Seems perfect for light bulbs!Reminds me of an old mailbox.

FAMILY ROOM off the kitchen………………

THAT other ELIZABETH over yonder in ENGLAND has a place in HER home! This was used on the BRIDLES for the horses………I actually sold a few of these over the years!!WHY did I do that?Adds so much to the crushed velvet!

How gorgeous are these TWO?I think that is a POOF at the landing for the FURRY BEASTIES……..a resting SPOT!LOOK AT THAT WALLPAPER……………..

Now, look at the walls..she striped it off and left it as it was……BRILLIANT!This is the living room which I will get to in a minute!

OMG……….FABULOUS OR WHAT?MUSIC SHEETS FRAMED TO HOLD THE CHANDELIER…………

A BANGED UP PUTTO to keep HER company at the kitchen sink…………D I V I N E!

KITCHEN SINK…………note the velvet curtains…………..My kitchen sink needs a RE-DO!Love the old hardware on the drawers.

POINTE SHOE just hanging around………..

The MASTER Bedroom.
With a MASTER lounging…………….

MORE LIGHT……………….adore the magazine holder…………AN URN.

This is the REAL STACY ……….A VERY HAPPY GAL.
NO WONDER!
She lives in this WARM WONDERFUL much LOVED HOME.

The bathroom………………….NO words needed here!

The bathroom again!

The BOOKS On the Staircase……..which was a FADED VELVET idea………..that DONNA always has inspiration up her sleeve as well. These TWO spend their FRIDAYS together………ROAMING!

PRETTY SPECIAL……..old comfy chair with a Florentine magazine rack and a big adorable GINGER CAT to hold.

A CLOSET that now functions as a sewing room…….or I should say A LADY’s DOMAIN.

TREASURES…………..LOTS of TREASURES………………it was GORGEOUS!

FOUNDATION for the WALL………..it WORKS!

Bedroom Television…………pretty nifty way to hide that big NEW thing that we all NEED in one room or another..

JEWELS……for a QUEEN.

PEARLS ANYONE?

HAT PINS and THREAD…………..

A BRIDAL VEIL just hanging around………………..looks darn good there!

A Better shot of the TELLIE!

I know someone else who collects these MASTER Pieces!

BACK down we GO ………………

THE LIVING ROOM………orange cord for FAN for the cats!!!IT GETS HOT IN OHIO!

AS you can see I did not know where to LOOK NEXT!
THE SALON…………………..velvet sofa’s and CHAISE LOUNGE.With two women who were waiting for me to stop taking photos!!!
So, that is the story of this little vintage HOUSE in OHIO………………..
I wonder if she has NAMED this HOUSE?If not WE her VIRTUAL visitors need to come up with some ideas………what POPS into your mind after looking at this house?Let’s come up with a NAME……….like they do in ENGLAND.I think that would be a fun HOMEWORK assignment for ALL OF YOU!

How on earth did you breathe and keep focused with all the GOODIES???? I have a friend here whose house is like this. You cannot enter without looking everywhere….OK, this is fascinating! Oh, I believe in naming houses, like in England AND in Carmel. Our house is named too! We are WITZEND and my husband made a plaque that we put on our gate, à la Carmel.
OK, back to this fab post. Where do we even begin? All the white rusty and fabulous iron work, the santos, the ballet slippers (I had a pair, gave them away), and all the trinkets….I could never ever decide what to do with all those treasures! I bet she is also very gracious and a wonderful hostess, huh?
The Limoges plates are a scream….how about, La Petite Maison Blanche?
contessa says

Ginger house- In honor of her kitties, of course

Ma chere Contessa,
What a gracious host Stacey is to share her treasures with you and your faithful blog followers!
She is a kindred spirit who obviously is a very happy gal.
My favorite is Stacy’s bathroom with that lovely mirrored cabinet.
Also loved the iron gate in her front yard.
It looks like the ginger cats rule the roost, so why not “Ginger Cat Haven”!
Perhaps, “Sweet Rose Abode”.
Twas a lovely tour through an amazing house filled with lovely treasures!
Merci beaucoup!

Thanks for the tour, just an amazing and fun home. I like all of you, love and collect santos, crowns and romantic antiques. Stacy is so adorable and creative, but I wouldn’t expect anything less from Ohio. My best friend lives in a tiny town called New Philly Ohio. People from Ohio are awesome! I feel guilty I haven’t visited, she always comes out to California because she has family here also. I already love Donna too, we follow each other on Insta.
Thanks for sharing such a fun time and wonderful peeps. XOXO Aida

Jacqueline says
What a wonderful home Elisabeth and I so enjoyed having a look around. I love individual homes like this ….. I get so bored seeing the same things in every house, don’t you ?
Our Victorian house is called ‘ The Laurels ‘ as there are laurel bushes in the front garden and next door is called ‘ The Briars ‘ as they have rose trees in theirs. They were named when they were built in 1890. I need a little more time to think of a name for Madame Trash’s home !! XXXX
contessa says
YOU think and get back at US……………

I love the idea of the ceiling covered in old sheet music…extremely clever…those are two lucky cats by the way!!
contessa says
THREE CATS………all FOUND at a FLEA MARKET in very HOT TEMPS.
Her girlfriend RESCUED them and gave to STACY!
Stacie says
How am I just now reading this?! I laughed out loud (true LOL) when you said you had to remind yourself to keep breathing. That’s you! I saved the image of the framed sheet music on the ceiling to show my mom (she’s a pianist). Maybe I’ll do that in my guest room for when she visits. Oh, and you know what?! Leslie should do that above each reformer. Chandeliers for all, to! Or at least yours.
What a fun trip you had! You found some soul sisters! Can’t wait to hear more. I trust the photos are on your phone so you can show me more. See you soon! XX
Stephen Andrew says
You have found your people! And who would have thought we’d be in Ohio?! It’s such a breath of fresh air to see people with their own taste and point of view. I’m so sick of the world in boring “Belgian Grey” or whatever Restoration Hardware calls it. Houses like this are the ones to treasure. They’re special and tell so many stories
contessa says
BINGO!I couldNOT agree with YOU MORE………….
THANKS for POPPING BY!!

I’m on the floor! What incredible treasures she has and she has quite the “eye” for choosing great pieces and styling them. How on earth did you hear about her and why on earth were you in Ohio? Fabulous post, as usual, Elizabeth. My favorite is the fur muff under the wine bottles on the dining room table and her kitchen sink area – love it!!!

virginia bassett says
They wore hearts on their sleeves. To show they were brave. To go where dreams are made. Enchantment conjured up by ghostly crown wearing antlers. Virgin Mary’s adorned for a ball. Glittering jewelry anxious to strut their stuff tumbling out of ancient containers. This place where the bizarre becomes beautiful. This castle of beckoning rooms and drifting memories. Where hallways and corners whisper secrets of the past. This is a mansion of the unexpected.
