BLOGGING!

March 6, 2017 By LA CONTESSA 136 Comments

What is it about BLOGGING that attracts you to it?

For me it was traveling the world in the comfort of my own chair!

Being allowed inside other homes and meeting NEW PEOPLE!

I found it all VERY EXCITING!

They would share recipes, fashion tips, places to visit!

In a matter of months you felt that YOU were their FRIEND and were inside their HOME.

Enjoying each others thoughts,and ideas.

HOW LONG has BLOGGING Been around?

“It’s generally recognized that the first blog was Links.net, created by Justin Hall, while he was a Swarthmore College student in 1994. Of course, at that time they weren’t called blogs, and he just referred to it as his personal homepage.”

“The early 2000s were a period of growth for blogs. In 1999, according to a list compiled by Jesse James Garrett, there were 23 blogs on the internet. By the middle of 2006, there were 50 million blogs according to Technorati‘s State of the Blogosphere report. To say that blogs experienced exponential growth is a bit of an understatement.”

SO, there you have it!

TWENTY THREE YEARS.

But really did not take off until TEN YEARS AGO!

WHAT IS IT THAT MAKES US READ A BLOG?

INFORMATION

HUMOR

PHOTOGRAPHY

NEWS

For me it is ALL of the ABOVE.

I get to step into YOUR world for a few minutes and see what YOU are UP TOO.I can share a LAUGH or a Cup of TEA with YOU.I can see what roses you are growing that I may NEED!But mostly a friendship builds especially if you are a regular COMMENTER.Because you get to KNOW THAT PERSON through her/his written words…………….and other COMMENTERS AS WELL.

I look at it as a diary of your LIFE.

THIS BLOG IS A DIARY of MY LIFE.

Think about that for a moment. You have NEVER met face to face but yet you feel YOU know what makes this person TICK!I would compare it to the LOST ART of a PEN PAL.But yet we have photos to help make that person become REAL.

BLOGGING has CHANGED in the last year………….

Infact, a few of you that went to BLOGGING CONFERENCES said that BLOGS were on their way out! That VIDEO’s were going to be the next IT THING!

I think I heard this two years ago and thought to myself well, if that is the case I’m out of here……..I can barely upload my photos!I still do not know how to add a video to the BLOG!Not that I have anything to share in movie form EXCEPT that ADORABLE Tea CUP pig that lives with ME NOW!!I do have a few short video’s of HIM learning to SIT and eating treats off his SNOUT!OH, and the BEST is the STAIR MASTER……….Yes, BANKSY had to climb 100 steps to get inside!THIS YOU CAN SEE ON MY INSTAGRAM STAGE; oh excuse me I meant PAGE!

WHAT HAS CHANGED IN BLOGGING?

THEY ARE MAKING MONEY NOW!

IN the beginning they were for your own personal space.

Now, it seems EVERYONE  is linked up to an ADVERTISEMENT.

They are ALL over the page or JUMPING in from the side bar when you are trying to READ or LOOK at a PRETTY PICTURE!

I have RESISTED!

MY reasons………NOT TECHY ENOUGH to DEAL WITH IT.

NOT enough VOLUME most of these blogs carry.

I am NOT after THE NUMBERS………..

I like to know my READERS!

YOUR comments make me smile and laugh and bring OUT MORE STORIES from the depths of my SOUL.

DO you come back to check YOUR comment?

YOU should because in a day or two I try to ANSWER them.

Then there is the SELFIE PHENOMENON.

Do you remember how we all said,”OH MY GOD I am not going to do THAT!”How silly!

HOW SELF~ABSORBED!

That FEELING did not take LONG to dissolve did it?

I have been thinking about WHAT THE SELFIE has DONE for PEOPLE.

It has given them a CREATIVE OUTLET.

Especially OLDER WOMEN!

POWER OF SELF EXPRESSION……….LOOK AT ME I’m GREAT………….I think I’m BEAUTIFUL TODAY so I will SHOW YOU HOW I LOOK.But truly it is a FORM of SELF VALIDATION that YOU can BE YOU and get immediate FEEDBACK from people YOU do not even know.

It is an IMAGE ENHANCER. IT BOOSTS your SPIRIT.Makes you feel GOOD.Makes you be CREATIVE.I am always trying to get THE BEST BACKDROP and be ARTSY for ARTSY SAKE.Bottom line it is just plain old-fashion FUN!Fun does not come often to LADIES over 50……….and there is a TROOP of them over on INSTAGRAM who DELIVER and CAPTURE some of their FINEST ARTISTIC WEAR.

I may be GUILTY some DAYS but DO try and break it up with A PIG<GARDEN>CAT & A DOG.

AGAIN this is done by ME ALL in GOOD HUMOR…………..

BACK TO BLOGS.

HOW MANY BLOGS DO YOU READ IN A WEEK?

HOW MANY BLOGS MAKE YOU SPEND MONEY?

WHICH BLOGS MAKE YOU LAUGH OUT LOAD?

Which BLOGS teach YOU NEW RECIPES?

DO YOU FOLLOW A BLOG just for the PHOTO CONTENT……………..?

BE WILD

AND LET US SHARE IN THE COMMENT SECTION ALL BLOGS THAT MAKE UP YOUR WORLD!

I have to say READING BLOGS is SO much MORE FUN than reading a NEWSPAPER these days.

LIFE IS A FEAST……….and this CANADIAN SIGN SAYS IT ALL.

Hello Contessa, It looks like I am the first to respond which hardly seems possible. Here are MY responses:
    1. How many blogs do I read per week – that depends on the week. Some weeks there are great blogs (mostly about France, gardening and interior design). There are probably 20 blogs that I check regularly but not every one posts every week so there are perhaps 5 to 10 per week that are worth a read. Some read like a novel which gets tiresome.
    2. How many blogs make me spend money? So far, zero! At least NOT the products they pitch because the products seem to be significantly overpriced. I have been inspired by a few blogs and purchased related items, but again, not from the vendors connected to their sites. The Atelier de Campagne that I discover through your site is about the closest I have come. I met them at a Vintage Fair in Pomona week ago. They have some great things which I will probably use in my NEXT house.
    3. Laugh? Well, Ellie’s certainly did! Often your’s does. My French Country Home by Sharon Santoni make me smile with pleasure. Betsy Speert’s blog makes me smile, sometimes laugh and shake my head at the same time. (Hubby wonders WHAT is going on!)
    4. Recipes? Andrea’s “French Basketeer”, Sharon’s “My French Country Home”, Mimi Thorisson’s “Manger”, and Artie McGoo’s Cookie Decorating Site.
    5. Photos – OMG! Ellie’s was my #1 for photo content. Andrea had wonderful, personal shots from her travels in France and her home in Laguna Beach. I always enjoy YOUR magical garden and home. Château de Gudanes restoration website / blog. The Gardener’s Cottage about a small home in Redlands. There are others (well known ones) that I do not follow as much because they are too long and use images lifted from the interest or from old magazines and do not give attribution to the photographer. I prefer original images from the authors even if they are not “professional” quality. It reveals their unique point of view.

I could go on and on but other commentors will certainly fill out the list.

    Smiles from Charlotte

Dearest Contessa – you often comment that no one calls anymore to talk. So, I thought I would just call. Happy to hear that all is well with you. Do wish Andrea would start blogging again. I met YOU through HER blog. Then I met Ellie through YOUR blog.

Yes, Johan, from Atelier de Campagne is a very nice man. When I mentioned you, he laughed and told me the story about meeting you on the freeway to deliver products.

I am trying to declutter right now thanks to The Gardener’s Cottage “5 Per Week Challenge”. I was, however, severely tempted to purchase some things from Johan. Severely tempted!

Chateau de Gudanes is very inspirational, I’ve been following it a couple of years. Ellie’s also, miss her. Lost in Arles, beautiful photos and writing. Stacey Snacks, very original and good recipes. Sharon’s French Country Home, Betsy Speert, Manger, all good ones. Garden Rant is fun. I’m in France, so don’t even have to think about shopping for anything from the US, either no shipping or too expensive. Anyway, I love truffling my own treasures!

Just today, I googled the question “Is blogging dead.” Because it is changing. But you don’t change. You have such an endless capacity to put a positive spin on elements of our modern world that I so appreciate. Like selfies! I am trying to get more confortable with photos of myself on my blog because those posts do so well. Of course I prefer self-deprecating, silly photos. Point being, the importance of the image cannot be understated. I fell in love with you in the red opera gown feeding chickens in the Jardin de Luxembourg. And your readers are shockingly devoted. I aspire to such greatness every week. My other favorite blogs include The Smitten Kitchen (recipes), The Sequinist and So What to Twenty for fashion, Victoria Elizabeth Barnes for humor and decor, Messy Nessy Chic for weird fun, The Jealous Curator for art, and Little Augury for art & design history. Now I’m off to write a post about my ridiculous kitchen island which is the size of a Mini Cooper. Ciao!

You know I’m your biggest fan. As a blogger I love blogs. The best part is making a friend like you. I usually dont return to read replies because I can’t remember which ones I’ve left a comment on. But as a blogger I always respond to comments. I don’t think blogs will ever die because we all enjoy reading them, learning something, finding out what makes people tick.

Love you presding over that scrumptious pavlova. I dont know which is more beautiful you or dessert!

This post has touched on so many thoughtful ideas that I will be thinking about for some time. My first contact with blogs was, “Paris Breakfasts”. I enjoyed the blogger as she was a watercolor artist pursuing and refining her skills AND taking us along on workshops AND walked us through the streets of Paris. I started a file and have saved almost every post. I did purchase some of the watercolor books she recommended and found them useful. There have been other blogs were the blogger seemed like me trying to stretch their fashion budget, sharing their creative styling, and even videos showing pairings of wardrobe pieces….but all the pieces were in reach. Sadly, they were “discovered” by vendors as a way to move stock and sell. Suddenly, the settings were set in exotic or foreign places and the clothing became very high end designer. There was a disconnect between this followers and content. The blog became a tool to sell. The “friendly” atmosphere was gone and so was I. I enjoy style and connections with others. Your blog is perfect and embodies all that I value…. a good story and a connection. I do like shared resources as that shows a generosity of spirit. Creative ideas, recipes, and style is so much fun as well! Add a little pig, a corgi or three or a goose or two…even better!!!!!!!!

After I wrote my comment above a new element to blogging has been added. I am not sure I like it. Some bloggers…after attaining a number of followers (selling product type blogs) are now referred to as “influencers”. My red flags are going up….not sure what to think about it, but I sense an uneasiness with this new development.

This will come as a small surprise that up until a few months ago, I was relatively uneducated in the world of blogging. I really didn’t know or understand what the whole thing meant. Then one day, I was sitting in Chateau Bel Age in San Diego. You were there with Sandra Sallin, and she turned to me and asked if I was a Blogger, too. I came up with a very embarrassed “no”, because I had absolutely no clue what you were all talking about. Later on, dear Valerie gave me the whole Blogging 101 course structure. And boy! Did a light go on!! I love that so many ideas come in a snapshot on Instagram and then get promoted to individual Blog sites. It’s an absolutely brilliant way to share and connect with kindred souls! I made mention to you before that you and I live many parallels. I would never have known this, but for your fantastic Blog. So, yes, I read a few blogs, but you, dear one, make my heart smile. Sometimes there is even a full belly laugh to go with it! Inspiration comes in many forms, and you may just have inspired me to grab on and Blog myself!!

Hello and thank you for such a wonderful post! I have 83 blogs on my reading list (I actually went and counted them before writing this comment), however I certainly don’t read that many every day. Many bloggers don’t post daily, anyway. I probably have 10 – 15 favourites on which I leave comments. Some do make me laugh, in fact, those tend to be my favourites. I absolutely agree with feeling like you are making connections with people all over the world and that after some time, you feel like you have a friendship with some of them, although you may never meet face to face.

I have been seriously tempted to try to make money blogging, but I feel that my tech knowledge (lack of knowledge) would hold me back, as well as my relatively small following. That’s not to say I wouldn’t try to make money with a different blog, perhaps in a few years when I am retired. I write just because I want to. I’ve always written. It’s how I think.

Please post more about your teacup pig. You will be the first person I “know” who has one. -Jenn

    March 6, 2017 at 8:43 pm

Oh, I love the Canadian sign and its saying so much. Is that “Canadian” as in Canada or “Canadian” as in a place in California…?
Still the saying is very inspiring.

The first blog I ever read was Ellie’s and I was addicted to it. We lived in separate worlds and yet had many common interests. I would be just about to give away something when Ellie would write about it and what a treasure it was. I didn’t know the etiquette of emailing to her but it was the start of a great friendship. When is her birthday this month? Then I read your blog and Lost in Arles. I also read the instagram of Windlost1 which I treasure, too. Occasionally I’ll read Stephen Andrew Jones and make my way down the list of other blogs on his blog. Now I mostly limit myself to yours and Windlost1 IG, both of which I savour and treasure. I have been dying to see the pizza oven and there tonight is a MOST charming photo of THE Italian smelling a rose you reach out to him.

I love your blog. I feel an instant friendship with you and there is always something that makes me smile or laugh or feel wistful or reflective. Sometimes, as with Ellie’s, I wish we were sitting over a cup of tea and then I could say “what would you think if I painted my living room with 1 wall of Wedgwood blue”? “How should I arrange that?”

More snow here today but light and fluffy – and with bobcat tracks in the yard today. Oh please keep blogging, I do so love your insights and stories.

PS. Your son’s furniture is lovely!

Hi, my dear friend. Of course, as others have pointed out the best thing about blogging is the friendship.
I was just down at the street when a neighbour walked past. He could have been the double of THE Italian.
I watched his sparkling dark brown eyes and thought just for a moment yours had been mysteriously transported.
My neighbour turned out to be Dutch. (although I’m sure he had Italian ancestry).

I didn’t write Stephen but am now worried.

I love your link and the photos of THE Italian. Thanks so much!

Well, I was just thinking about blogging.
I love to read blogs. I want to know and understand people. Not to look at our differences as a bad thing, but to celebrate our individuality, and know that we share our in our Humanity. I am an observer and a deep thinker. I need input. And blogs deliver.
We are the same, differently. I want to study that.
I love facts. Blogs deliver that also. History, the Earth, current events, animals, humans, even Bigfoot!
I can meet people who are outside of my normal circles, not in my geographical area, not of my social economic stratus.
I love it! People are fascinating. I want to know and understand.
I read tons regularly. My job is very high stress, and reading blogs gets me beyond myself.
When I found Faux Fuscia, that was a game changer for me. Australia just opened up to me. Her humor is spectacular. I’ve found other blogs from her blog list. People who intently watch the royals. How to make pavlova (I see that picture of yours, looks like yum) Hermes scarves. Blue and white ginger jars. Setting a wonderful table. Fashionistas in London.
Some I read are related to my interests, sewing, cooking, decor, DIY, my faith. Some are not.
One of my other favorites is People of New York. Very insightful.
Other blogs I read tend to be about life style. When blogging first started, I was a homeschooling mom. Lots of homeschooling blogs and parenting blogs back then. My boys are grown up and on their own now, so I’ve moved away from those blogs.

So, yes I still do read blogs and occasionally comment on some. I tend to take most things with a grain of salt.
But, there are some bloggers out there that just cut through and connect with me. Like you.
You are just special to me. Just hit a cord in my heart.

I read your blog because you make me smile and I am quite sure we would be friends if we weren’t on opposite sides of the planet. I love your adventures and your writing style and photos. The photos here are just fantastic. Joie de vivre.
There are some I read for information or to get ideas about fashion or decorating. I don’t get much exposure here in a tiny village in deepest France. There are some I like for the photos. Some for the writing. I have onlynrarely bought something because it was suggested/advertised. Some of the ads are automatic because the blog platform is free. That seems OK. But the ones that I really dislike are the sponsored posts.
There will always be a place for good writing.

There are two kinds of good photos. One is artistic, well-composed, perfect lighting, etc. etc. The other kind of good photo communicates information. The artistic kind can do that, but sometimes–often–it is an end unto itself. Your photos communicate lots of information. For example, it never once occurred to me that your use of caps would be “shouting,” though in most other cases I would read it that way. Why? Because your photos show you as someone who is wonderfully dramatic, but the drama is the fun kind. I suspect voices aren’t often raised in your house (unless, perhaps, in a lively discussion of the proper way to cook pasta or some such). I imagine you speaking a bit like Joan Plowright or another great British actress of the sort who EMPHASISE (with an S not an American Z) certain words. Which is certainly not shouting. The idea!
Anyway, blogdom has open borders. Those who don’t like what’s on offer are free to go elsewhere.

I have loved reading through lots of these comments, it’s all fascinating. But I am shocked that someone could say that about your photos, and someone in France, dreadful dreadful and shouting, never occurred to me, the capitals add emphasis and they are unique to you which is why I love them! I can’t understand why people find it necessary to be rude or cruel, if you don’t have something nice to say then don’t say anything at all, but then perhaps that is my Britishness coming out, never complain, never explain!

Each writer has to have a target audience in mind, and when you blog for a while you get to know the characteristics of your readers, and you write with them in mind. I was pleased with my last post when two new commenters responded to the editorial I had written.

A lot of my favorite bloggers have retired, and that is why I am so glad I discovered your blog–I don’t remember quite how, but presumably through comments on other blogs I read, my usual m.o.

Contessa, I love blogs and I regret I have less and less time to read them..Between writing my own, which I barely do, and life, it seems I can’t hardly fit it in except for evenings and I’m sometimes too tired.

As far as blogs I like, well yours is my favorite kind. I love seeing your home, how you live and what you like. Too many blogs have become all about commerce and every post is selling something. That kind of turns me off to be honest. I think if it is a mix of that and life and travels and the person is real, then I am okay with a little of selling things, as people have to make a living and blogging is very time consuming and a lot of work. You have to know then how to strike the right balance.

I also don’t love blogs that are all photos of one person in an outfit in 6 different poses- not so exciting. Those I think will not last. I prefer the mix of things- travel, fashion, style, home, food and almost like a magazine, as that is what I would be reading if it weren’t for blogs.

Keep up what you are doing Contessa as yours in the most original and inspiring – just like you. xx Kim

Even though I was a close neighbor and friend of your favorite Aunt; I never would have met you without my blog……and yours! And Brooke and Steve…..of Velvet and Linen…..they are lifetime friends……and soulmates……and you, and the Italian, and Sandy Sallin and Bruce!

Never will I advertise…..just because I don’t want to. I have never bought anything from a blog.
That doesn’t mean it is wrong to advertise, or to buy. I just don’t. I don’t know if I will do many more blogs….they have been fun. Your explanation of “why” is my favorite!

hi elizabeth. i remember the day i found my v first blog. it must have been in 2009, it was cote de texas. i was in heaven! someone writing about interior design and gardens, i’d never seen anything like it. it was just a few months later that i thought it’d be an easy way for me to keep a diary of my home and garden and i was right. it’s the reason i keep at it. if i’m wondering how the garden looked in 2012 all i have to do is click on. i love that. or what was i wearing in 2010 – just a click away. so i love that people find something they like about my blog but i selfishly write it for me now. i’ve long ago exhausted anything interesting about my life to write about. i love your blog bc you are so have such moxy. that is a quality that is rare today and i just love the richness and love for life that your blog conveys. i found you thru ellie. i found ellie thru a woman who recognized me from my blog while shopping at trader joes. it is a small world!!!!!! xoxo

And to meet so many interesting people. And to meet colleague bloggers in real. When I was in New York some years ago I ran into Debra Rapoport. With the demise of my Mother this past week I managed to find the strength to write a post on my blog and from that have received over 150 messages with personal stories and condolences…the power of these comments is helping me as I go through the painful grieving process. So not only can we travel vicariously through other bloggers, we can connect across cyberspace in a meaningful way….

    Good morning sweet Elizabeth,

I have been reading blogs since 2006, made my first in 2008 and did not post until 2017. A lot has changed sine the beginning. I agree with you while heartily about the people. friendships, camaraderie and more. I read blogs for those reasons and to discover new recipes, destinations, books, articles, art and more. Although some of my favorites has retired, and some have passed away I still discover new and old friends every morning.

Although I am sad to see blogs that have literally turned into storefronts, I am excited that these bloggers have parlayed their hobbies or interests into a business. I am excited for blog friends that have published novels. I like the fact that anyone can write about what inspirers them and maybe even make a little money to put their kids thru school.

That said, I do not like blog that get free trips, furniture, clothes, etc and do not disclose that fact. I would think it would be like a badge of honor that someone discovered you and thought you were the right person to promote their resort, clothes, etc.

I personally share links to things that I think people would like and that I actually use, read or wear and I like when people I respect do the same.

I am off to check out your sons furniture.

    Thanks for the discussion!

You can get info so much quicker and a good place to share thoughts about life. I have followed you since the luncheon w Andrea. Not a fan of the advertising that appears in and out as you are reading some blogs and those I try to avoid. Some of my favorites are My French Country Home (met her on her recent book tour) Andrea’s blog was very entertaining and enjoyed her photos of her trips to France. Miss her blog. Enjoy Censational Girl, Sacramento Street, The Stylonista, Hello Lovely, Velvet and Linen and many french blogs. I do post occassionally. Blogs have opened up another world and for this I am glad and hope they continue to exist.

Quite often I read reports saying blogging is dead, but clearly it isn’t because blogging can take on so many forms. Blog’s can deliver humour, fashion tips, interior design ideas, recipes, travel news, facts, parenting info, in fact I am sure there is a blog for anything and everything out there. Personally I admire anyone who takes the time to sit and write on a regular basis, because I know how long it takes. I love blog’s that make me smile and I particularly like blog’s about interiors, gardens and travel because these things are of great personal interest to me.

Sorry, clicked publish a little too soon, what I wanted to add as my final sentence is the one that I find the most important of all, the friendships one makes blogging. Most are people we may never meet, but occasionally we do meet up and that is an extra special treat, blogging is a way of connecting like minded people around the world, it beings people together rather than separating them and surely in this world anything that can do that is a wonderful thing and something we should embrace.

I am quite new to the blogging world, first started following For The Love Of A Home then Velvet and Linen and Penelope Bianchi which led me to you dear Contessa. I have always loved collecting and decor and these blogs and others opened up a whole new world to me. I was delighted to meet people who were creative and talented and had passion for the same things. I could never talk plates or linen to any friends here as they would have been bored……then I met Eddie Ross and fell in love with him immediately. Eddie has been known to wash and starch linen on a Saturday night, love his passion..and then of course through you I met the feisty, incomparable delightful Ellie. I will never look at another piece of blue and white China without thinking of her. I was heartbroken when she passed and often listen to her song. Sandra Sallin from Apart From My Art, I adore and love her adventures, introduced via you of course.

I think your blog is wonderful, you give so much of yourself and your family. You have a generous, creative and kind soul. I love to read about your life and am grateful for your friendship. xx

I’m sitting in bed with the sun barely rising in a hotel in Tokyo on my phone reading your wonderful blog for the pure pleasure of being part of your daily life. And I love your caps too….certainly not shouting!!! I also really enjoy reading all your readers comments and always go back to check your comments. I find I dip in and out of some other people’s blogs though don’t thave the time to subscribe to any other than yours. I do follow one called “it’s a beautiful world” on Instagram and sometimes head over to her blog as she travels like I do and seems to be quite similar in the type of cafes and shops she visits or recommends which I often take note of. I think the most powerful thing about blogging for those that do and also those that read them is the connections of like minded people from all around the world!!

Sorry got the name wrong on Instagram that I follow – “its beautiful here” not it’s a beautiful world.

    Dearest Contessa, hello!
You are one of the members of blogging royalty. Thank you for the insight into why we blog or visit blogs; I think I lost my groove a while back and haven’t been able to step back in at the level at which I feel I achieved in having “viewers.” But the relationships I’ve struck up from blogging for 9 years mean the world to me, and it’s because of the self-expression we’ve allowed ourselves to engage in, with each other.

    You are beautiful, as always.

    Quickly – I enjoy your blog – unique I ‘d say.
I subscribe to about 5-8 blogs for all different reasons.A couple I like which I don’t think were mentioned here are: Lost in Cheeseland (Paris/France)That’s not my Age (London) Atypical 60 and Accidental Icon ( her Weds. post) Very cerebral on Fashion which makes it so interesting to me. She blogs like no one else I follow.
Keep doing as you have been – your “voice” is WONDERFUL

Oh me oh my! What a lot of good stuff to read down here in the comment section. I do believe that the Golden Age of blogging has faded away. Some of my very favorites have all but disappeared, I am sad to say. But there are still a few bright and shiny bloggers out there that keep it real and don’t try to sell me anything and have me with my nose in my ipad instead of a book. Instagram seems to be the thing these days and it is pretty efficient but it just isn’t as a cozy as a good sit down with a blog. I just found you through Instagram so yay for that but you’ve made me think. Perhaps I should dust off the old camera and take a few photos of myself and do an actual blog post again. My face has not seen the blogosphere since last year! and I’m not getting any younger, that’s for certain. So there. You’ve inspired me. Job well done, Contessa. So very nice to meet you!

I have been blogging for years and years….and more years! There are times when it seems like an overwhelming burden, coming up with things to say. But no, wait! I have a lot to say and there are SO many people out there who think just as I do. That is the most important part of blogging!!! I never, ever would have known so many like-minded people. And yes, when and if we do ever meet up, it’s as though we’ve been friends forever. Let’s all keep blogs going for many years to come!
