YESTERDAY, I RECEIVED A PAINTING DONE OF ME AND BANKSY AND AN OWL THAT LIVES IN MY GARDEN UNBEKNOWNST TO THE ARTIST WHO HAILS FROM SPAIN!
PLEASE MAKE CERTAIN YOU HIT THE VOLUME ICON (RIGHT LOWER CORNER) AFTER YOU TAP THE ARROW IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PAINING! WHAT IS SO INCREDIBLE BESIDES THE PAINTING IS SHE HAS NO IDEA I LISTEN TO PAVAROTTI ALL THE TIME!!

A LITTLE UPDATE ON MY HEALTH:
I HAD A REACTION TO THE MEDICINE FOR THE LADY WINDERMERE OR MYCOBACTERIUM AVIUM AS IT IS KNOWN.
I STOPPED TAKING MEDS AND AM RESTING MY BODY AS I WAS TERRIBLY ILL THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY.
LUNG DOCTOR SENT ME TO G.I. DOCTOR FOR ENDOSCOPY AND COLONOSCOPY AS HE FEARED THERE WAS SOMETHING ELSE IN PLAY HERE!
THEY FOUND MILD INFLAMMATION IN MY STOMACH AND FIVE POLYPS IN MY COLON THAT WERE ADENOMAS.
THEY WERE NOT CANCER YET BUT CAN BECOME; SO OUT THEY CAME!
LUCKY ME I GET TO GO BACK FOR ANOTHER COLONOSCOPY IN SIX MONTHS!
I NEED TO GET BACK TO MY LUNG DOCTOR AFTER I RE-COOP A BIT.THE GI DOCTOR SAID HE FOUND NOTHING TO EXPLAIN MY WEIGHT LOSS (OVER 50 POUNDS) NASEAU AND DIARRHEA.
THERE IS A POSSIBILITY IT COULD BE IRRITABLE BOWEL SYNDROME SO HE SUGGESTED A PROBIOTIC AND A LOW FODMAP DIET.
He did recommend the ANTIDEPRESSANT MIRTAZAPINE for nausea and weight loss!
A FEW OF THE SIDE EFFECTS OF THIS ANTIDEPRESSANT LISTED BELOW.
Dizziness, drowsiness, lightheadedness, increased appetite, weight gain, dry mouth, or constipation may occur.
SINCE I ALREADY EXPERIENCE DIZZINESS ON OCCASSION, DROWSINESS ALL THE TIME FOR YEARS AND LIGHTHEADEDNESS FOR AT LEAST THE LAST FIVE YEARS I TOLD HIM A FLAT OUT NO THANK YOU!!!!
MIND YOU THIS GI DOCTOR SPENT 10 MINUTES TALKING TO ME ON THE TABLE BEFORE PROCEDURE AND MAYBE 10 TO 15 MINUTES BEFORE THAT LOOKING INTO MY COMPUTER FILE!
MEANWHILE, I FOUND A FUNCTIONAL DOCTOR WHICH A FEW OF YOU HAVE BEEN SUGGESTING FOR YEARS!
HER FORMS SHE SENT WITH QUESTIONS TO FILL OUT WERE VERY, VERY GOOD I THOUGHT AND OUR PHONE CONVERSATION WAS VERY PRODUCTIVE!
SHE IMMEDIATELY HAD THOUGHTS OF WHAT WAS GOING ON!
ALL MADE LOGICAL SENSE TO ME TOO!
I STARTED ON A REGIME OF HERBS THIS PAST SATURDAY.
I ONLY TOOK THE MORNING PILLS TO END UP DIZZY AND IN BED FOR THE REST OF THE DAY WITH VOMITING AND DIARRHEA!!!
I HAVE CONTACTED HER AND PLAN B WILL START THIS COMING SUNDAY.

I STARTED DOWN THIS PATH ON November 25,2020 BY WRITING MY MEDICAL DOCTOR TELLING HER I WAS CONCERNED DUE TO THE WEIGHT LOSS AND THE LACK OF APPETITE.HERE WE ARE ON MARCH 10,2021.I HAVE LOST ANOTHER FIVE POUNDS SINCE NOVEMBER.
MEANWHILE WHILE WE WAIT FOR A CURE SHALL WE DO SOME SHOE SHOPPING!
I BOUGHT THESE BIRDIES SHOES RECENTLY………THEY ARE CALLED THE SWIFT IN GOLD SIZE 8.5
I KNOW THEY LOOK SILVER HERE AND IN REAL LIFE TOO!
BUT THEY CALL THEM GOLD!
I FORGOT WHEN I ORDERED THEM I GO DOWN A SIZE ALWAYS…….SO IT SOULD HAVE BEEN AN 8 I ORDERED.
I WORE THEM TWICE.SO THEY ARE DIRTY ON THE BOTTOM OF THE SOULS.
I DID NOT MAKE THE CONNECTION UNTIL YESTERDAY WHEN I WAS TROMPING THROUGH A PARKING LOT AND THEY WERE SLIPPING OFF MY HEELS!

Ahhhhh Yes- The COLONOSCOPY-I am due for one in May. Last one -two years ago- 6 polyps-LOVELY. I now do them WITHOUT Anesthesia!!!! I want to SEE what is going on. Uncomfortable-YES!!!!! Wish I could look into my Crystal Ball to figure out WHY you are losing weight. Not being able to eat LOADS of Pasta doesn’t help. Taking Herbs can be VERY TRICKY! Years ago I decided to do a cleanse with a then popular Herbal product-don’t remember the name- took the pills-got into the tub to Relax and about 20 minutes later-The water in the tub appeared to be rising and falling-Think of the Ocean during a Tsunami. Needless to say- I Freaked Out- almost ended up in the Emergency Room-promptly threw the $60 bottle of herbs in the Trash. Did you run any of the Herbal recommendations by Flower? Might be a VERY good idea:) Love the Portrait of You and Banksy-I am Obsessed with the way she painted his little hooves- the front ones look a bit like shoes! Please put on a hat, take a Sun Bath (exposing as much skin as possible) for 20 minutes every day and Breathe in your Beautiful garden:)

Gut health is the most important thing for our overall health. It is our second brain.
Colonoscopies completely deplete the good bacteria from our bodies. The only way to be healthy is with a healthy gut.
If we continue on this mechanistic view that modern medicine has of our bodies we shall all die FROM it. Health doesn’t come in pill form. Take care of your gut dear!

I too have a close relative of your lung disease, bronchectasis, and have struggled with it for over 5 years. I found sound quality help at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fl. But any Mayo location is great. Also all the other things you’ve gone thru I’ve been too. The endoscopy/colonospy is happening early April. My heart goes out to you as you find your answers. I too have been in my home for a year now but get my 2nd vaccine shot on this Friday. Good luck, god bless you with healing energy. Bonnie White

Oh my Elizabeth…so much is going on in your world. I am so hopeful that your new doctor will sort things out, it sounds like she is very thorough which to me is a good thing. Maybe your owl is your mother, watching you both? I assign birds to all the relatives that have passed on. Now, when I see them (or hear the woodpecker), I know my family member is with me, watching and covering me with their wings of love.

Well, you still have quite a bit to do, LA CONTESSA, so don’t go saying it’s all done now. Sure, you’re an accomplished woman but you’re far from finished.
Can I ask if you’ve tried omitting lactose from your diet?
I went through an odd experience a few years back (also got my colonoscopy then) where I couldn’t keep food in my tummy. It was a poopy time. Stomach upset is awful and they say the bowels are the second brain. I now know this to be true. Doc put me on some medication that was hard on the stomach, but designed to kill bad bacteria.
But what I discovered is that I have become lactose intolerant! Once I figured that out, my bowels have operated perfectly. Many people mentioned IBS to me but not the case and quite relieved when I figured out what was ailing me. I also lost some weight but not as dramatically as you have. I also roast my veggies to avoid stomach upset. Very few veggies do I eat raw now since I learned how hard it is for our digestion system.

It’s a lovely sunny day here on the west coast of Canada. Always great to find a posting from you in my inbox! My gawd it’s amazing that you are still standing with all that you have gone thru in February. When you are going thru a rough patch your posts still remain very upbeat/positive/joyous.
I so like the painting done by Nunilo – there is so much life in her brush strokes. I agree the painting should be made into notecards – I would buy a pack.
One last thing – I had mentioned in an email re the guy who had been going thru similar symptoms with you – 5 years – always being treated for IBS. He was a wreck. He had a chance conversation with some drs at a party and they suggested it could be an irritated nerve in the gastro area. Got treated = meds for the nerve and has made an excellent recovery. Do confirm that there could be no nerve problem.
PACK IT IN – no way – we/your followers want you around for some more decades! Reading your posts brightens our day.

Oh dear, I’m sorry you are still struggling with getting an answer to your health questions. Sometimes the answer will come from an unexpected source, that’s what I’ve experienced. But you have to be your own advocate, and follow your heart. Glad you said no to the antidepressants, hope you find something that works for you soon.
The painting is charming and fun, captures the mood of your garden and the close relationship between you and our favorite porker, Bansky! What a nice surprise to find in your mailbox during these dreary times!

Oh Elizabeth, I am so sorry to hear you are feeling unwell again. And yet you are a constant inspiration. I don’t know how you do it. Hope you get diagnosed soon so you can start to feel better.
The painting of you and Banksy reminded me a little of Botticelli’s La Primavera. Our Covid numbers are spiking dreadfully. They’ve closed down everything again except for essential services. That’s such a bummer the Lady W medication didn’t work out with you. I expect there’s an alternative treatment for you? Meanwhile, saying No to the antidepressants was the right thing to do – it’s crazy these things are used as a catch-all repurposed medication. But it was good to get a colonoscopy anyhow, and those polyps are best gone! The procedures aren’t as grim as people expect and even the clean-out formula has improved in the last few years, so you aren’t up all night before on the loo. That first cheese sandwich and cup of tea when you come to in the recovery room is soooo delicious!!
Very happy you are trying a new doctor. Fingers crossed for you that she’s going to work out and you sound very positive despite the nasty herb reaction. Keep smiling, carissima!

How peculiar not to receive something to eat! For some reason I assumed it was to be sure that the anaesthetic hadn’t mucked you about when perhaps it was all to do with, dare I say, Care?!!… Prednisone is an interesting drug and I have an elderly friend who’s been on it for an age and says it makes you rather hyper and you need to get used to doing your housework at 2am!! Don’t google it as you’ll probably shy away from what you read 🙂 xx

Such beautiful work and so meaningful. Keep looking after yourself, IBS is the sh**s (excuse the pun) . Lo fodmap is the way to go. Hard at first, and time consuming figuring out what the intolerances are. You can also do breath tests .. to discover all 3 lactose/ fructose/gluten intolerances ( I think). We did it for lactose. And btw Lo FodMap was developed here in Melbourne ! stay well xx

I do have to comment on Prednisone = if you take it be sure the dr has explained ALL the side effects that may or may not happen!
It was prescribed short term for my husband 2 years ago. Nothing was mentioned re side effects. Oh my – I wondered a couple of times just who was this person in the kitchen! Different personality! When we saw the specialist I asked about change in personality – is this normal – oh yes she said it does cause that. Also caused puffiness in the face. Fortunately he was only on it short term.
People unsubscribed from your blog – you write about life! I enjoy your blog because of the varied topics! We learn from you! Life is reality and that’s what a blog should be in my opinion.

The sad thing for me is I CAN SEE WHO UNSUBSCRIBES and a few I know or have known in the past.

Isn’t it lovely that during a pandemic, we can meet new friends and establish our friendships as well!! I hope you are feeling better. I hadn’t had a chance to read the blog, and so when we spoke, on Sunday, I didn’t know of your colonoscopy. Now that im readying it, I will send good well wishes up North to you!! The rain you had last week, is making its way down here, and I know the garden will be so happy about it!! I love your painting, and please make it into cards!! I will be the first to buy them!! I wish I wore a size 9 shoe, but after my foot operation I have to by 9.5, to fit my bigger foot!!
